Mike Howe (July 1, 1941 - November 23, 2020)
Mike Howe of Oakridge Rd, Pine Lake, Age 79,
passed away on Monday November 23, 2020. Mike was born in Kalamazoo, on July
1, 1941, the son of Edgar A. and Evelyn (Heisler) Howe. On June 7, 1987, he
married Dolores Ann Gagnon, who survives him. Mike attended the University
of Michigan and graduated from Western Michigan University. His wide range
of employment experiences include owning two of his own businesses, George’s
Smoke Shop in Holland and MWH Recruiters, Inc., as well as being the
Director of Human Resources for a Fortune 500 Company. In 1990, he became a
Certified Personnel Consultant. Mike was a former member of the Plainwell
Chamber of Commerce and past President of the Plainwell Rotary Club. He also
served as a Director of Plainwell Pipp Hospital. In his spare time, he
enjoyed the outdoors, especially hunting and golf. Nothing was more
important to Mike than his family. Besides his wife, he is survived by his
children, Laura (Ronald) Dolnik, John (Melody) Howe, Michelle (Scott) Quoss
and Tracy (Jason) Jarrett; grandchildren, Hali (David) Daam, Logan (Melissa)
Dolnik, Rhonda (Jeremy) Widener, Ronnie (Amanda) Dolnik, Robby (Kim) Dolnik,
Brandy Howe, Kimbert Maligat, Kenmark Maligat, Lexy Quoss, Breckin Quoss,
Ashley Jarrett and Alyssa Jarrett; eight great-grandchildren; siblings,
Ernestine Renner and Helen (Pete) Sprecher; nieces and nephews, Kathy (Mark)
Wunderlin, Linda (Todd) Boyer, Pat Renner, Pam Myatt, Julie Berndt, Mary
Campbell, Amy (Ken) Sprecher, and cousin, Jeff (Annette) Sorensen. He was
preceded in death by his parents; a brother, George Howe; and a sister,
Harriette Berndt.
